Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by Austrian airline Lauda of a new service from Vienna to Shannon, for summer 2020. It will be a twice-weekly service, commencing in March, and will provide a welcome boost for tourism from Austria next year.
Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “Today’s announcement is good news for tourism to the west coast of Ireland – expanding the options for Austrian holidaymakers to come and experience the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way. We look forward to co-operating with Lauda, Shannon Airport and other tourism partners, to maximise the promotion of inbound travel on this new service. As an island, the importance of convenient flights cannot be overstated – they are critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism.”
